Since 2008 Emily has been collaborating with César Alvarez and the dance company CONTRA-TIEMPO on designs for concerts, musicals, music videos and concert dance. Her scenic, costume and prop designs form an extension of her visual art practice, where painting, sculpture and altered objects show up onstage as environments, clothing and even characters.
Her work on the Soho Rep/Ars Nova production of FUTURITY in 2015 earned her a Lortel and Drama Desk nomination in set design.
In the fall of 2024 Emily stepped on stage as a performer in the multimedia performance, egg, which she co-created with César.
